After studying Geo-Ethnology, which should have lead her to become an Ecology Engineer, Valentine Gauthier delved into her creative side at the Atelier Chardon Savard. Eclectic design positions at Rochas to Martin Margiela, led her to rise the ranks to artistic director of a project concept store; launching multiple brands of knitwear, lingerie, and accessories.

Mastering the art of contrast, she defines her woman as elegant yet distinctive, feminine yet androgynous. She launched her brand VALENTINE GAUTHIER in 2008 to instant acclaim with her debut collection “Assiette Anglaise”. Soon after, she integrated a special line of hand knitwear, made from an association of women from Uruguay, which affirmed her willingness to work in a more sensible manner.

Since the beginning, all of the pieces of her collection are made from natural materials and are fabricated in the original country of the first material: the baby alpaca and the pima cotton garments from South America are integrated in the collection along side with silk, organic cotton, and naturally-treated leather from India or Europe. Valentine has been recognized for her green efforts; invited to present at the selective first edition of the 1.618 Sustainable Luxury Fair at the Palais de Tokyo, Museum of Contemporary Art in Paris.
